The AMD Radeon RX 7800 is expected to be the middle-tier option in AMD’s upcoming launch of three new mid-range graphics cards, the RX 7800 XT, RX 7800, and RX 7700. Based on its current RDNA 3 architecture, these three new cards should fill the gap between the high-end RX 7900 XTX, RX 7900 XT, and entry-level RX 7600.
Information on the new card is thin on the ground so far but there has been a leaked benchmark of the new gaming GPU along with a suggested price. All the details of which you can find below.
AMD Radeon RX 7800 benchmarks leak
There’s been a AMD Radeon RX 7800 benchmark leak that suggests AMD’s upcoming mid-range gaming GPU will beat the RTX 4070.
The leak comes via Twitter user @All_The_Watts and shows screenshots of 3DMark Time Spy benchmark runs with the GPUs identified within each screenshot. The AMD Radeon RX 7800 3DMark Time Spy score is 18,197 points.
Rather helpfully, another Twitter user, @harukaze5719, collated these results, comparing them to benchmark runs from existing GPUs. From this chart, we can see that the RX 7800’s 18,197 points beats the 18,007 points of the RTX 4070. That’s just over 1 percent higher performance, but we expect the RX 7800 to be cheaper than they RTX 4070’s $599 MSRP.
AMD Radeon RX 7800 price
The AMD Radeon RX 7800 price will be $549, according to leaked pricing from @All_The_Watts. If true, this is a slightly higher price than we might have expected, though still undercuts the RTX 4070 by $50.

|Boost clock||2800 MHz|
|L2 cache||4 MB|
|L3 cache (2nd-gen Infinity Cache)||64 MB|
|Memory||16 GB GDDR6|
|Memory clock||2250 MHz (18 GHz effective)|
|Memory bandwidth||576 GB/s|
|Interface||16x PCIe 4|
AMD Radeon RX 7800 release date
The expected AMD Radeon RX 7800 release date is Q3 2023, based on our best estimate, as no official announcement has been made.
We’ve been impressed by previous RDNA 3 GPUs for the most part. There are some disappointments – the ray tracing performance isn’t as good as GPUs based on the Nvidia Ada architecture, and there’s no AI frame generation tech, such as DLSS 3. However, the performance for the money is generally solid, and both the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7600 are listed on our guide to the best graphics card.
