Lian Li has announced an updated version of its much-loved O11D XL case, in the shape of the Lian Li O11D Evo XL. It takes the innovative design of the original model, with its dual glass panels, and adds several practical updates, including a movable and removable motherboard tray, 3 x 420mm radiator support, and a new removable front pillar for a seamless glass look.
The new removable pillar gives users the choice of a stronger case when the pillar is included or a completely seamless glass view with the pillar removed. Lian Li doesn’t specify what load bearing difference the pillar makes but we’d suggest maybe not sitting on your case without the pillar (or indeed sitting on it at all).
Along with removing the corner pillar, you can remove the side bands that run round the edge of the glass panels too, further opening up the view, though potentially exposing the slightly uglier parts of your build such as the sides of radiators or cables tucked around the edges of the case.
The new motherboard tray can be height adjusted into 3 positions (high, middle, and low) to provide better fan/radiator clearance at the top or bottom, in accordance with the fact this case has a trio of fan mounts at the top, front and bottom sections of the case – the power supply and cables sit behind the motherboard tray.
Other features of this dual-chamber PC case include improved support for vertical GPU mounting on the side fan/radiator bracket and redesigned cable management and storage solutions. The case can also be reversed, with the IO panel also able to be moved between three different positions without the need for tools.
The Lian Li O11D Evo XL release date is right now while the Lian Li O11D Evo XL price is $234.99 and $244.99 for the black and white versions respectively.
