Samsung 990 Pro hits lowest ever price in Black Friday SSD deal

Samsung's super-speedy PCIe 4 SSD has dropped to just $120 for 2TB, having been over $300 earlier this year, while the 4TB model is just $250.

Samsung 990 Pro SSD black friday deal

Samsung has hit the Black Friday discount button on its Samsung 990 Pro SSDs. One of the fastest PCIe 4 SSDs going, this speedy storage solution has been dropping steadily in price over the last year but has now reached its lowest price ever.

Just recently we reported on potential SSD price rises due to Samsung raising the price of its raw NAND flash storage. As such today’s Samsung 990 Pro Black Friday deal could genuinely be the lowest price this SSD drops to in the foreseeable future. We can’t guarantee anything, of course, but that would be our bet.

While the 990 Pro isn’t currently listed in our best SSD guide, that’s only because it was quite expensive at the time of writing our Samsung 990 Pro review. However, in our Samsung 990 Pro review we saw that it was one of the fastest PCIe 4 drives around so at it’s current price it’s definitely worth grabbing.

You can find the discounted drive on Samsung’s website, with Samsung offering the 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB drives at a reduced price. The 1TB Samsung 990 Pro is just $80 while the 2TB drive is $120, and the 4TB model is $250. Buyers elsewhere aren’t quite so lucky with the early discounts but those in the UK can get the 1TB for its lowest price ever, and the 2TB drive is within £10 of its lowest ever price at the moment.

Samsung is also offering its Portable SSD T7 Shield at similarly reduced prices, with the 1TB and 2TB models the same price as the 990 Pro and the 4TB option being just $200. This portable SSD offers 1050/1000 MB/s read/write speeds via its USB 3.2 connection, for super-rapid storage on the move.
