The stupendously excellent Portal games are packed with iconic designs, from the highly cosplayable lead character, Chell, to the terrifying red-eyed glow of the sentry turrets. Perhaps the most iconic of all, though, is the weighted companion cube, which is the inspiration for this most sleek Portal PC build.
Created by Ironside Computers for YouTuber The Sphere Hunter, the PC uses a white Corsair 4000X case that’s been customized with white decals to form a stretched version of the companion cube. Inside there’s also an etched panel depicting the Portal participant instructions, and of course, there’s a shiny red Valve too.
For components, the machine sticks with an all-white theme to match the cube’s white and grey outside, and it packs quite the host of high-end hardware. There’s an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, Intel Core i9-13900KF, Asus ROG Strix Z790-E motherboard, Corsair Dominator Platinum memory, a Deepcool AK620 CPU cooler, 2TB Kingston KC3000 SSD, and an EVGA 1300W 80-Plus gold power supply.
Ironside Computers creates pre-built PCs and customized cases, such as the Yggdrasil Norse-themed case, or The Juicebox Kawaii-themed case. It also works with several content creators, such as BikiniBodhi and VShojo to create pre-themed PCs that fans can buy.
