At the opening of its Gamescom 2023 booth, Corsair has announced the Corsair Platform:6 desk. The new modular Corsair desk provides optional electronic sit/stand adjustment, customizable desktops, and incorporates a host of customizable mounting systems for fitting monitors, pegboards, and other accessories to the desk.
UK readers can currently find loads of Corsair discounts on Amazon UK, with up 44% off.
The core of the desk is a modular rail system that uses standard T-channel extruded aluminum bars, onto which can be mounted a host of accessories. By default, the desk includes a set of dual monitor arms plus a RapidRoute cable management tray that’s large enough to store power strips as well as your general cable clutter. There’s also an in-desk storage cubby with USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports.
Opt for the Multi Frame add-on and you can attach a large pegboard to the back of the desk, which provides more T-channel bar space for mounting items along with the pegboard for attaching other accessories. The system also includes adapters for Elgato Multi-Mount and Flex Arm products so you can easily mount products such as the Elgato Facecam and Elgato Key Lights.
Side extensions can also be added to the desktop, providing an extra 30 x 70cm of desk space, while further side-hanging pegboards can be installed too.
The desk itself can be either a fixed height or electronic sit-stand option. The latter appears to be a fairly standard-looking, twin-legged arrangement with a decent 300lbs (136kg) lift capacity. The desktop is currently available in a choice of dark walnut-stained rubberwood or black laminate surface materials.
The potential of the Platform:6 desk is plain to see, with Corsair’s example builds showcasing a mass of lights, cameras, and speakers, sitting on T-channel mounts or shelves while the pegboards are strewn with mounts for PC controllers, VR headsets gaming headsets, gaming keyboards and more.
