Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 pictures have leaked online, showing the upcoming mid-range Nvidia GPU will sport a compact dual-slot design.
The news follows last week’s leaks of Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 specs and price, which revealed the card will cost $599 at launch and include 5,888 CUDA cores. As of 13 April, you can also now read our full Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 review to see how it performs in our benchmarks.
The new leaked pictures show the RTX 4070 Founders Edition – the card produced directly by Nvidia rather than by add-in board partners (AIBs) such as Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and Zotac – has the same styling and cooler setup as the RTX 4080 FE but with everything shrunk down. In particular, the width of the card appears to be a strict dual-slot design rather than extending to two and a half or even three slots as on the RTX 4090.
The new card also doesn’t extend beyond the height of a PCIe expansion bracket. All told, this should mean it fits in the vast majority of cases without issue.
This stylish, compact design is likely to be causing a bit of unrest among AIBs, as it also seems likely the leaked MSRP of $599 will apply to this card, leaving little room for other card manufacturers to compete on pricing. For the RTX 4070 Ti launch, Nvidia left card designs completely to AIBs, so for it to return to producing its own design – and on such a high-demand, more affordable card – is unlikely to go down well.

Also revealed in these new images is that the RTX 4070 will include Nvidia’s controversial sixteen-pin power connector. Although the RTX 4070 is unlikely to be drawing the current necessary to cause the connectors to catch fire, like they did on the RTX 4090, some buyers may have been hoping for standard six- and eight-pin power sockets.
Display outputs on the FE card are reported to be one HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, which is the same configuration on other 4000-series FE cards.
