Our Verdict
80%Fantastic RGB lighting and superb efficiency - it's just a shame about the price
The Thermaltake Toughfan 12 RGB is a 120mm RGB fan that comes as part of a rather pricey pack of three fans. This set of fans costs an eyewatering $130, but they are without a doubt the most amazing RGB fans we’ve ever seen.
The fan frame facias feature single-piece areas of diffused RGB lighting and both sides are illuminated with fabulous RGB lighting. Sadly, it’s all tied into Thermaltake’s RGB ecosystem using its TT RGB Plus software to control the fan speed and lighting meaning you can’t control standard RGB components, but this was simple to use.
The Thermaltake Toughfan 12 RGB airflow of 1.86m/s is 2,000rpm, falling to 0.8m/s at 1,000rpm. Meanwhile, the Thermaltake Toughfan 12 RGB noise level at 2,000rpm is 55dBA, dropping to 45dBA at 1,000rpm. These results obliterated the Thermaltake SWAFAN 12 RGB’s 1.31m/s with 67dBA at peak speed and matched the award-winning Deepcool FC120 too.

Thermaltake Toughfan 12 RGB review conclusion
The Thermaltake Toughfan 12 RGB offers the best fan RGB lighting we’ve seen and fantastic airflow for low noise levels, matching the excellent Deepcool FC120. The trouble is, they cost a staggering amount. If money were of no object, though, they’re the fans we’d go for and they’d turn more than a few heads.
