Nvidia has revealed the impending arrival of two new graphics cards, the GTX 1650 Super and the GTY 1660 Super. The GTX 1660 Super is due to by the end of October with the GTX 1650 Super apparently arriving in late November.
The GTX 1660 Super will have 1408 CUDA cores on a 1530MHz base clock and a 1785MHz boosted clock, the same as it’s non-super predecessor. The memory is being switched up from GDDR5 to GDDR6, and there will still be 6GB of it. This means that ultimately the only step up is the memory and an extra $10 on the MSRP versus the original GTX 1660 at $229 versus $219. If nothing else it will provide an interesting example of the difference that faster memory alone makes to graphics benchmarks.
The GTX 1650 Super represents a more substantial step up. The GPU is changed from a TU117-300 to a TU116, bringing 1280 CUDA cores versus 896, a 1530MHz core clock versus 1485Mhz and a 1725MHz boost clock versus the 1665 on the GTX 1650. There will still be 4GB of memory although as with the 1660 Super the memory is beefed up to GDDR6.
We don’t have an MSRP for the GTX 1650 Super, but with still a month to go before it’s expected launch date one will probably leak out from somewhere.
