Rumour Control: New Nvidia flagship on the horizon?

AIDA64 may have recealed an upcoming Nvidia GeForce graphics card, an absolute behemoth that uses the same GPU die as the RTX 2080 Ti.

The latest beta version of the system information tool AIDA64 Extreme has added support for an unknown GeForce RTX card under the name of Nvidia GeForce RTX T10-8. There are no other details revealed except that the card is based upon the powerful Turing 102 GPU.

The Turing 102 GPU sees service currently in two Nvidia general consumer graphics cards, the GeForce Titan RTX and the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, and in a couple of Quadro commercial cards.

There is room to swing more than a few cats in the price difference between the $2499 Titan RTX and the $999 RTX 2080 Ti, so it could be that we’re going to see a new Super card settle into that gap. It could maybe even push the price of the RTX 2080 Ti down.

With AMD making noises about releasing some big fish into the pond in the not so distant future it makes sense for Nvidia to hold a heavy hitter of their own in reserve. This would allow them to either go at the challenger directly or redress their pricing to stay competitive down the line.

It is starting to look like that we’re due for a good old fashioned high end GPU Kaiju battle before too long.
