Rumour Control: AMD Radeon RX 5500 launching this quarter?

A new entry level graphics card could be on the way from AMD, with new whispers suggesting the Radeon RX 5500 could be upon us imminently.

With Nvidia about to make a move into the entry level market for graphics cards it stands to reason that AMD would also have something on the way. We already suspected that the AMD Radeon RX 5300 XT would be along shortly, but it turns out it will not be alone and that the AMD Radeon RX 5500 should also appear this quarter.

So far not much is known about the AMD Radeon RX 5500, except that it has a 128-bit wide memory interface, and that it will be using some form of the 7nm Navi GPU. The rumours from Videocardz suggest the possibility of 22 Compute Units, with 1,408 Stream Processors and possibly as much as 8BG of GDDR6 RAM.

If this is to be the card that comes in to replace the likes of the RX 560 and RX 570 then we should expect the prices to be in the same ballpark, somewhere around £200 at launch.
