Lian Li launches the Lancool 2 case

Lian Li launches the new Lancool 2 midi tower gaming PC case, which is available in both black and white models and costs less than £100.

PC gaming case with LEDs

Lian Li has launched the new Lancool 2 case, a mid-range midi-tower that slides neatly into that middle ground between the chunky box looking cases and the ARGB disco malarkey cases by combining the classic angular techy square shape with big tempered glass windows, large mesh panels for cooling and integrated controls for ARGB LED fans.

The case looks low key, but it has the trappings of a stylish case even if it doesn’t run too far with them. The glass side panels work as magnetically locked doors. The PSU is stored out of sight in a compartment below and there’s enough mesh panelling to give it a stripped down ventilated look without compromising the general sense of solidity and stockiness that it has going on. It’s a neat marriage of stylish features with a no-nonsense form.

The cooling setup for the Lancool 2 is comprehensive. There are three 120mm ARGB fans installed, and a total capacity of eight. The layout is typical for a gaming midi-tower but the Lancool 2 pushes it further than most. 3x 120mm or 2x 140mm fans can go in the front, 1x 120mm fan goes in the back as an exhaust, 2x 120mm fans can go in the side cover to the PSU compartment, which is an unusual feature but welcome for an area that cases usually don’t do much with, and 2x 120mm or 2 x 140mm fans can go in the roof of the case. These fan mountings also serve as mountings for 240mm or 360mm radiators in the appropriate spaces.

The I/O panel has a USB-C 3.1 port, 2x USB 3.0, 3.5mm audio jack and the controls for the on-board RGB lights, colour and pattern.

The Lian Li Lancool 2 is available in black and white for £82.99 and £87.95 respectively.
