The HyperX Cloud Stinger wireless gaming headset is the first of its kind from the company, and its spec sheet suggests it packs a punch for its sub £100 price.

HyperX, the gaming division of Kingston Technology, has announced the release of its new wireless headset, the Cloud Stinger. It’s the first wireless HyperX headset to launch at under £100, but it still doesn’t seem to lack for features.

Boasting a 2.4GHz wireless connection with a 17-hour battery life, the Cloud Stinger offers significant endurance, while keeping the weight down to 270g. The volume controls are built onto the ear cups and the mic has noise cancelling and a swivel-to-mute system. The unit has a range of about 12m, and the ear cups rotate so you can rest it on your neck comfortably when not in use.

Meanwhile, the circumaural, closed-back earcups contain 50mm directional drivers with neodymium magnets, and HyperX says the headset is ‘built on the comfort and sound DNA of previous Cloud headsets.’ The HyperX Cloud Alpha has been on our Elite list for over 18 months, so we’ll be interested to try it out for ourselves. The Cloud Stinger is available now with an MSRP of £79.99 inc VAT.
