HyperX launches the Alloy Origins mechanical keyboard

Featuring newly designed linear mechanical switches, the HyperX Ally Origins gaming keyboard could signal a breakthrough for the company within the space.

HyperX has launched their newest mechanical keyboard, the Alloy Origins. The Alloy Origins sports HyperX’s new design of linear mechanical switches, designed for a shorter actuation point and longevity, all wrapped up in an aluminium casing with RGB lighting and macro configuration handled by its support software.

Visually the Alloy Origins favours the understated but illuminated approach. The brushed aluminium frame is compact and minimalist, but the lighting options are substantial thanks to the clearance between the caps of the keys and the bed of the keyboard. This is the best of both worlds because if you want the crazy colour patterns they are there, and if you want to tone everything down and tell visitors that this is a serious keyboard for serious people and you are doing serious work you can pull that off by turning the lighting down.

The keyboard can be set to three tilt angles, 3 degrees on the rubber feet, 7 degrees on the first set of foldout legs, 11 degrees on the second. The cable is also detachable USB-C so this makes it neater for storage and transport. Little details but on a high-end mechanical keyboard attention to those details is expected.

The HyperX Alloy Origins should be available now and has an MSRP of £109.99.
