AMD delays Ryzen 9 3950X until November

The postponed launch of the Ryzen 9 3950X should mean there'll be more processors available for everyone who wants one for their system come November.

The arrival of the new AMD Ryzen 9 3950X CPU has been delayed until November. AMD has said that this delay is because they are trying to get on top of the strong demand for their existing 3rd generation Ryzen CPUs.

AMD has also confirmed that the third generation Threadripper CPUs will be releasing at the same time as the Ryzen 9 3950X. This news could be considered softening the blow, although perhaps not if you work for Intel.

Given the huge demand for the Ryzen 3rd generation CPUs already on the market it feels like a smart move from AMD to build up the amount of stock on hand before release day. Selling your product as fast as you can make it is a good problem to have.
