While it was hard to get around the elephant in the room of the AMD press conference, namely the slightly terrifying amount of cores crammed into the Threadripper 3990X CPU, another possibly more practical announcement was the launch of the AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT slated for the 21st of January.

The RX 5600 XT comes in with 36 compute units and runs with a base clock of 1375MHz and a boost clock of 1560MHz. It has 6GB of GDDR6 RAM and a 192-bit memory interface. This comes in at an MSRP of $279 US.

AMD graphics card launches last year tended to be piecemeal, with the RX 5700 XT launching first with a standard reference cooler so that its speeds could be guaranteed, but we seem to be back to full launches, with all of the board partners also getting their cards on the shelves at the same time.
